Death Penalty Grew Rapidly
Over the past four centuries death penalty has existed in the United States. The number of penalty grew rapidly in the nineteenth century when compared to the seventeenth and the eighteenth. There is a rising trend in the recent years. The laws were different from place to place and each colony had their own practice of punishment. This phenomenon was brought by the European settlers who came and settled in this continent .The British people played a major part in influencing the people of this land. In April 1999 there was a resolution passed by the United Nations Human Rights Commission which supported in suspending executions worldwide .This law asked other international law bodies to stop this practice in their respective countries.
